Dakota's Restaurant

December 12, 2010 Last time I went there was really the last time - the decor is beautiful although I would say it does not fit the town - but since it moved to its new location everything else is far below the standard staff is less than average undermotivated - the food is unpredictable to put it nicely and the overall experience an F. What does the owner think he is doing?

My friend & I had dinner at Dakota's last night (Dec. 13/10) at 630 pm and I must say, we won't be back. The restaurant looks nice, the food was good but the bartender was not. The bartender doesn't know how to mix a Polar Bear drink (which my friend described to our waiter what was in it). Instead of coming with hot chocolate, it came with coffee. The waiter apologized and we got another drink only to find that this time the rim of the glasses were coated in salt instead of sugar!!! The drink was suppose to have peppermint schnapps in it which is clear but our drink definitely had something green in it, perhaps, creme de menthe. After messing with our drink order, the waiter never asked to take our dinner order until at least 30 minutes into sitting there. The waiter also forgot to bring the baked potato condiments for my friend until about 15 minutes into our meal. The waiter kept saying the bartender was new and he kept apologizing all evening. When the bill came, my friend stated that perhaps a discount would be in order and the waiter laughed and never offered a discount and said it would have to come out of his pay cheque. Bad service all around so won't be back. Sad to see for such a nice looking restaurant.

I've dined here numerous times, and each time i am greeted with friendly staff and delicious food. The atmosphere allows for a private but comfortable dining experience in which few restaurants can compare. The menus offer an array of beautifully prepared dishes and the cooks are always open to tweaking your food to personal preference. I HIGHLY recommend Dakota's to anyone, you will not be disappointed.

I have dined several times at Dakota's during my recent visit to the area, and found the service excellent and consistent. The menu has a variety of delicious and hearty choices, my personal favorites to name a few are the Cajun prawns appy with freshly baked warm bread, steak with huge crab legs was a perfect way to finish my day, and the salads are crisp and delicious as well as a filling meal. I recommend Dakota's to all my friends for a great lunch or fantastic dinner.

Three defferent times, not my choice, I have been there with friends. Under average food and really poor service evry time. If you had a party that had a few drinks,THEN you have service. No recommondations here!

My recent dining experience at Dakota's was excellent. Service was friendly & efficient & both I & my date enjoyed our meals. The chicken fettucini, as always was fantastic.

Will not be returning! Found dishes dirty, food was sent back and refused to reorder! I WOULD NOT go back or recommend it to anyone!

We used to go to this restaurant a lot as the food is decent and you can always expect a good meal. Eventually the service just became extremely poor and waiting time for food was far too long.

waited 1 hr for sandwich, the next time there roast beef could not be cut by knife will never go back

Wow love the decor. The staff was friendly and the food was great. Will be going again when I am passing through Chilliwack.

Very Poor Service,(we to, waited for well over an hour for our meal and there were only 2 other tables being served in the whole place at the time. The menu is not nearly as good of food selections as the Old Dakota's, even the atmosphere is too 'cold', they should have left it the way it was!

1.5 hours waiting for food that never came is not good

the food is served with nice warm fresh bread, u get a couple courses and the service is very top-notch. all the staff is friendly and personable and the food is excellent quality.

We've been to Dakota's many times! The food is always excellent and the service ranks among the best in the area.

We're planning on returning shortly to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary!
